One day a priest contacted me requesting a “Maternity Scene” for his church.
I have never been interested in painting religious figures, but this time I couldn’t refuse the work.
While I was thinking on the word maternity and its meaning, I realised that my artistic interpretation was the love of a mother towards her son in the most natural and pure way.
Thus I decided to paint a mother with her son, both naked, taking a walk at the seashore. Eventually the mother hurts her ankle and stops near some rocks to take a look. Nevertheless, the mother continues smiling to her child trying to transmit calmness.
When I went to deliver the painting, the priest shocked when he saw both naked bodies. That was how I manage to enjoy another painting at my personal collection.
