One day I saw someone throwing away a dead partridge and an empty bird cage.
At that moment I imagined how it was the lifetime of that partridge, locked down and without enough space for stretching its wings. Having the word freedom such a wide meaning for a bird and without knowing that the only way to get out was resigning its own life.
What have the humanity has become? We stole animals’ freedom and once they are dead we don’t even need the cage that we used for that purpose?
It was such a deep sadness what I felt that I decided to paint it.
